Project Research

live

For my research, I wanted to go to the source of what made people tick. What got people going? What made them scared? Happy? Pumped up? Was it just a smile that could make someone’s day? Was it if you got a good parking spot? Or was it simply the feeling that someone cared about what they were saying?

I took my research to another level. Yes, I googled these sorts of things, and I got some general answers. But I decided to interview my peers, and get right to the people who’s life I was trying to change.
I asked the general question: What makes you happy?
These were some of the responses I got:
-People make me happy. Genuine, nice people.
-Puppies!
-When people listen to what I have to say.
-When I go to a sporting event for my school. I feel part of something.
-When I go home from school. I love seeing my family.

Just these responses made me think, okay, these kids, ages 18-22 all want something similar. They want to be heard. So, with that being said, we should base our questions on what people want, need, or just want to talk about, and if we can help them in some way, and that would make a mass amount of people, then we are changing the world, slowly but surely.

I want to ask questions like what is your biggest fear?
What do you hate?
What do you like about UMaine?
What would you change about yourself?
Etc.

I want to change the world, one small step at a time. At this moment, just a mere 2 days after we launched our facebook page which is where we will post the process of the project and the way progression of it, we have 145 likes. It’s amazing.
