About My Work

I’m an artist at heart. I take inspiration from my surroundings, and from the people I meet. I base my art much of the time around social issues, as well as personal issues. I think my art background is what makes me different in the New Media department here at UMaine. I think my way with visualizing information is my strength, changing words into images, or vice versa. I like to analyze other artists, and see why they work the way they work, and learn from them. Back home I work as a waitress, and I believe my people skills also help me excel with networking, and team building. I’m a natural born leader, and that skill has helped my work progress to be the best it can be. I think my loud voice helps mobilize people, and with my knowledge of technology I believe this can have potential to be a great combination. I have experience with this as I worked on the 2012 Presidential Campaign going door to door with the Republican nominee, Mitt Romney.  I am not afraid to give my opinion nor ask for opinions, which is why I think crowdsourcing is a strength of mine. I believe that everyone’s views and thoughts should be heard, and taken into consideration in any/all issues, whether it be projects, or just collecting data. Overall, I hope my work combining art, technology and communications makes a difference and positively contributes to the world around me.
